Who is Wyclif, John from Katherine?

John Wyclif was a famous priest, and John of Gaunt was one of his staunchest supporters. Wyclif challenged the idea that priests should hold power and accumulate wealth and supported the idea that all priests, like monks, should take the vow of poverty. John of Gaunt, however, withdrew his support of the controversial priest when he denied the symbolism of communion.
