Are you referring to the internment of Japanese American during WWII? If so, the attack at Pearl Harbor terrified Americans, who in turn, unjustly transferred their fear onto Japanese Americans. The war with Japan placed Japanese Americans under a microscope. They were looked upon with suspicion, arrested, discriminated against, and interred. Some even say that their internment was meant to protect them.
