What does Layla have planned after she gets the article out of the camp to be published?

Layla and her friends plan to stage a fast as a form of protest the next night after the article gets out of Mobius. They say that fasting is a long Muslim tradition, rooted in Ramadan, and that it is so simple and nonviolent that it should win them a wide sympathy among the other internees, while also challenging the Director’s authority.
