Agamemnon and Achilles are two very different men; Agamemnon is the king; Achilles is hailed as a hero. The relationship between these two men becomes strained when Agamemnon if forced to return a slave that he won as a prize in war... after this happens he demands that Achilles give him his own slave as a replacement. As a result, Achilles leaves his King's service, and Agamemnon's army suffers many losses because of his absence, and although he offers to not only return the slave but give Achilles many gifts.... the chasm between the two men becomes unbreachable.
