Who is Connor MacFerran from Ice Hunt and what is their importance?

Dr. Connor MacFerran is a Scottish geologist and part of the Omega group, he is involved with assistant Lacy Devlin, despite a wife at home. Linda was sweet and gentle with a welcoming manner and didn't deserve the betrayal, but that didn't stop Connor. His feelings for her are genuine however, and when she goes missing, he immediately begins a search for her, even willing to go alone if he must through the crawlspace. At the last moment, Amanda joins him. Connor is the second one to meet a live Grendel face to face, but will never be able to share his thoughts about the encounter as he is left with his stomach macerated at the entrance to the beast's nest inside the crawlspace tunnels.
