What is the author's tone in I Dared to Call Him Father by Bilquis Sheikh?

Sheikh's tone is initially tight and restrained. As she tells of her journey, however, her tone changes along with her beliefs and subsequent conversion. Bilquis tone through most of her story is filled with love and tenderness.
