The Strivers' Row neighborhood symbolizes ambition. Though Carney cannot stand his in-laws, he covets their Strivers' Row apartment. He sees these homes as representations of everything he is striving to achieve. By the end of the novel, the narrator says that Carney is considering moving to Strivers' Row, as it offers something bigger and better than his current circumstances.
