What is Precious Word Ministries?

Precious Word Ministries is a symbol of colonialism. The author uses the church and its aggressive belief systems in order to create a commentary on the ways in which colonialism has historically brutalized African cultures and peoples. The characters associated with Precious Word Ministries imprison innocent children, believing them to be demon-possessed. They strip them of their native language and beliefs, and force the Christian god and customs upon them. The church is a micro representation of colonial rule at large.
