Who is La Dive Bouteille from Gargantua and Pantagruel and what is their importance?

La Dive Bouteille is an oracle. Pantagruel and his men visit Bouteille to inquire whether or not Panurge should marry. Upon their arrival, Bacbuc takes Panurge to the sacred temple where he sees La Dive Bouteille standing, half-immersed in a fountain of water. She says one word, "Trinck", which Bacbuc interprets as "drink" Panurge does as he's bidden and then announces his intent to marry in a poetic fervor.
