Importance of Los Angeles

Los Angeles is where Tembi and Saro live for most of their marriage. It is where they have their daughter and it is the place where they establish their family and home. It is neither of their childhood or ancestral homes, therefore they must build a new home of their own there, which they do. The garden is where Saro grows the traditional ingredients for his Sicilian cooking, maintaining a connection to his culture and history. After Saro's death, Los Angeles is where Tembi and Zoela live for most of the year, when they are not spending summers in Aliminusa.
