Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Foer is primarily set in New York City in the two years following the destruction of the World Trade Center on 11 Sep. 2001. Nine-year-old Oskar Schell, who narrates the primary story line, lives with his attorney Mom in an apartment near the 86th St. entrance to Central Park. His Grandma lives across the street.
