Why did Willowdean not want to work at the mall with Ellen?

Ellen thinks that Willowdean ruined their after-school job plans by taking the position at Harpy's Burgers and Dogs. Ellen does not realize that Willowdean did not want to work at a store where she could not even fit into the clothes.
