Globalization is a recurring idea. The "shrinking" of the world certainly has its benefits. People of a wide varieties of cultures are able to communicate instantaneously; satellites can take pictures of any spot on the globe and transmit those pictures to any other spot in the world. Corporations are able to conduct business with corporations and governments the world over and do so quickly and efficiently. Technological, scientific and medical advances can be shared easily.
