What is the author's style in Deal Breaker by Harlan Coben?

Deal Breaker is written in standard English. Interestingly enough, the author does not give his characters an East Coast sensibility as applies to their usage.

An exception to this would be the narrator's use of the word "sneakers" in the description given of Ted Corbett on page 238. On the West Coast, the term "tennis shoes" is preferred.
