Emma volunteers to do Weston's laundry when he comes back to the house in Act Two and learns that Ella is not home yet and has not done his laundry. Weston tells Emma she is not doing his laundry because it is Ella's job. He questions what Ella does around the house, asks what a woman does, implying that it is her daily job to do his laundry.
