Who is Peter Bruning from Criss Cross and what is their importance?

Peter Bruning is in town visiting with his grandmother. While there, he meets Debbie, who cleans his grandmother's home. When Peter's grandmother is hospitalized, Debbie helps him around the house, as Peter has promised to help with needed repairs. The two teens embark on an innocent summer romance, that quickly ends when the time comes for Peter to return home to California.
