The sky is attributed to the free bird, and it represents the opportunities available to those who are truly free. It is vast, unknown, and slightly frightening, but ultimately full of possibility. The sky comes to symbolize not only opportunity, but also the possibility of a better world if society could overcome its systemic oppression of certain peoples and grant everyone true freedom.
