How does "Baby" the dinosaur get its name in the film, Bringing Up Baby?

Alice, David's fiance, suggests that their marriage is a dedication to David's work, and that the brontosaurus he is working on for the museum should be their "child." Thus, the dinosaur becomes known as Baby.
