Why did Louie Ward become an obstetrician?

Louie Ward was given detention by the nuns in seventh grade. In the school library, he began to read a biography about Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As he read, Louie was sure Dr. King was speaking to him. Louie decided he wanted to be a doctor like King. He decided he wanted to be an ob-gyn, because his mother died from a botched abortion.
