How do Marie and Louise prepare for the party?

Marie and Louise roll up the carpet and move the tables and large chairs out onto the gallery. They sweep the floors and put the vases away. Ladder-back chairs are placed in a row for parents to sit and watch their children dance. They move in small tables into the east parlor and set up the punch bowl, silverware, and napkins.
