What does Hank find inside the crashed plane in Chapter One?

Jacob and Lou goad Hank into going inside the plane to check on the pilot. There are dozens of crows and one that has been in the plane strikes Hank in the forehead in its effort to escape the plane. Jacob finds that the pilot is dead and that the man's eyes have been pecked out and flesh eaten from his face. Hank pushes his way back out of the plane along with a large duffel bag.
