What is the theme in A Passage to India by E. M. Forster?

I think that colonialism and the cultural fallout from it is a main theme of the story. While Dr. Aziz desperately wants meaningful relationships with British in India, he is ultimately separated from them simple by the relationship of power and racism inherent in the colonial relationship that Britain has with India.
