How does the author use foreshadowing in A House Divided?

In Chapter One, Yaun says, "Almost I understand how sons kill their fathers in these days—not that I could really do it, but I understand the feeling in those with a readier hand than mine." This foreshadows the time he will have to confront his father and address their differences.
