When Zahrah is born, the doctor is surprised to see that she is dada. He can tell because Zahrah has dadalocks. Inside the thick clumps of hair that grow from her head are skinny, light green vines that grow from her hair.

2. What is known about dada?

To be dada means to many that you are born with strange powers. That you can walk into a room and a mysterious wind will knock things over or clocks will stop. The presence of a dada can cause flowers to grow underneath the soil instead of above. It is said that dada are rebellious. It is also said that the dad-born are destined to be wise beings and may not become rebels.

3. Who makes Zahrah's life difficult at school?
