Objective

In chapter five Benton says that Henri is narcissistic. The objective of this lesson is to look at narcissism.

Lesson

1) Discussion: Have the students explain what traits come to mind when they think of someone who is narcissistic. In what way does this compare to the picture given of Henri?

2) Classwork: Have the students pick out a person from past reading or from history that could be easily labeled as narcissistic. Have the students explain why they chose the character they did and in what way narcissism is shown in this character.

3) Homework: Have the students make a list of negative effects that pure narcissism can have on a person's life. Include personal, professional, emotional and other possible effects

4) Debate: Have the class debate the necessity to have a small degree of narcissism in order to have a healthy ego and self image. Explain your point...
