Lesson 1

Objective: Chapter 1 The Yellow Admiral is a fictional narrative by the British author Patrick O'Brien. The novel is the eighteenth in the Aubrey-Maturin series, a series of nautical historical novels set during the Napoleonic Wars and centering on the friendship between Captain Jack Aubrey of the Royal Navy and his ship's surgeon Stephen Maturin. In this lesson, students are introduced to the book and author, and will research the Aubrey-Maturin series and other works by Patrick O'Brien.
