Lesson

1) Research: Read biographical information about Anne McCaffrey. Write the answers to these questions: When and where was McCaffrey born? Where does she live now? Where did McCaffrey go to school? What degrees does she hold? What were her first careers? When did she begin writing full time?

2) Partner discussion: Divide the class into groups of 2-3. Have biographical information available featuring Anne McCaffrey. What is McCaffrey's most famous series of books? What other books has she written? Has she always written the same type or genre of stories? Why or why not? What awards has she won for her books?

3) Writing assignment: Write a paragraph or two about McCaffrey's family. Use reference materials as necessary. How...
