Felix is a minor character that has a profound impact on the life of the main character and the progression of the plot. The objective of this lesson will be to discuss how Felix is able to hold such significance to this story when he only appear three times for a short period.

Lesson

1) Write Felix's name on the board. When the students come to class, have them write down a few words that come to mind when they think about this minor character. Have the students come to the board and write their responses around his name. Discuss this with the class. How many of these responses are repeated? Was it hard to come up with more than a few items? Why do you think that is?

2) Read aloud with the class the part where Felix brings a bezoar to Madoc without knowing why...
