Objective
The objective of this lesson is to examine how Amor reacts to her mother's death, and whether she is in denial. Amor learns about her mother's death from her aunt Marina. She tries not to listen because she does not want to hear the news or believe it is true.

Class Discussion: How has Amor been waiting to hear that her mother is dead? Why when she is told that her mother is dead, does she not believe the news? To her how is it a fact and yet has not happened? When Tannie Marina talks about the funeral and her mother's death does Amor try not to listen? Why does she think if she hears what is sad, her mother will actually be dead? Why is Amor able to talk about her mother's death with Lukas, but cannot with family? How does Amor react...
