Lesson 1 (from Introduction)

Objective

The nagual is supposed to master the mental aims of the universe, which is what Carlos is studying during his time with Don Juan. Today's objective is to discuss the power of mastering the mental aims of the universe, what they might be, and how they might change one's life.

Lesson

1. Have each student make a list of what the mental aims of the universe are.

2. In smaller groups, have students discuss whether they think they can master the mental aims of the universe.

3. As a class, have the students discuss the power of mastering the mental aims of the universe. What does this allow a person to do? Why is this so important for a sorcerer to know? What might this allow a sorcerer to do?

4. Homework: Have each student describe one mental aspect of their lives which they would like to master. Why?
