Other novelists who have won this prize include Cormac McCarthy, Alice Walker, Harper Lee, William Faulkner, and Ernest Hemingway. The objective of this lesson is to gain an understanding of the significance of a Pulitzer Prize upon "The Keepers of the House."

Lesson

1) Class Discussion: Have you heard of the Pulitzer Prize before? Make a list of things you know about the prize. Do an Internet search for the Pulitzer Prize. Look under prizes to learn more about the history of the Pulitzer Prize and for what categories it is given.
