Objective

The objective of this lesson is to discuss the point of view of Part One of The Island of Missing Trees, and how Shafak's choice of viewpoint affects the story. Shafak uses the first-person point of view in the Prologue and the sections titled, "Fig Tree." In the other chapters, Shafak changes to a third-person limited point of view.
