Essay Topics

Write an essay for ONE of the following topics:

Essay Topic 1

In one of his later imprisonments, Yun was ordered (along with the other prisoners) by prison officials to worship Buddha. Why would Buddhism be sanctioned by the Chinese government, and Christianity forbidden? Are there things about Christianity that are threatening to any government? Explain your view.

Essay Topic 2

Who was Marie Monsen, and why did Yun admire her? Discuss from the book why Yun was upset that there's no tombstone for her grave, and what Yun did about it.

Essay Topic 3

In Chapter Two, Yun wrote that God intervened in his life by healing his father. This is the first of many miraculous healings we read about in this book.
