Essay Topic 1

In Chapter Two, Yun wrote that God intervened in his life by healing his father. This is the first of many miraculous healings we read about in this book.

Part 1) Recount from the book at least three different times that Yun attributed a miraculous healing to God. Name the person healed and the circumstances.

Part 2) Did Yun view the healing as a means to an end? What would that end be?

Part 3) Did Yun downplay healings or exalt them? Why?

Essay Topic 2

Although Yun was imprisoned many times over the years, his mission remained the same whether he was in prison or free. What did he consider to be his main objective? Could the prison walls silence him? Cite two examples from the book where Yun reached out with the Gospel to men with whom he would ordinarily not have contact. What was the outcome? Do you think this helped Yun to understand God's plan for him?
