Essay Topics
Write an essay for ONE of the following topics:
Essay Topic 1
Yun noted that 1985 was "a powerful year" for Christianity in China. What did he mean by this? Discuss how the attitudes of some of his guards began to change, and note what you think might cause those changes. Was the attitude of the government changing as well? Discuss two different circumstances where Yun was shown that the intolerance towards Christianity might be waning.
Essay Topic 2
Christians are admonished in Romans 13:1 to submit to the governing authorities because God instituted all authorities that exist. How then, do you think Yun could justify his behavior against the government? Cite three examples from the book which explain times when Yun directly defied his government. Is it right to break man's law (the laws of a government)?
