Essay Topics

Write an essay for ONE of the following topics:

Essay Topic 1

According to the book, Brother Yun's life was filled with supernatural miracles from God that he could not explain away. Cite three different occasions when Yun believed God intervened in his life in a miraculous way, and the results of those miracles. Cite examples from the book to support your statements.

Essay Topic 2

In Chapter Six, Yun described a miraculous escape from prison. Look up an account in the Bible found in Acts Chapter 12, verses 6-11, where Peter escapes from prison. Compare and contrast Yun's escape with Peter's escape. What things are similar? What things are different?

Essay Topic 3

In one of his later imprisonments, Yun was ordered (along with the other prisoners) by prison officials to worship Buddha. Why would Buddhism be sanctioned by the Chinese government, and Christianity forbidden? Are there things about Christianity that are threatening to any government? Explain your view.
