Lesson

1) Partner Discussion: Divide the class into groups of 2-3. Who did Kapuscinski interview to get information to write the book? What had happened to many of these officials? What time of day would Kapuscinski have to visit the people he wished to interview? Why would he have to change cars? Did he have to wear a disguise? Why? Was this secrecy required because these officials were still wanted men? Why or why not? Was it dangerous for these men to talk with Kapuscinski? Why or why not?

2) Class Discussion: Who roamed the streets of Addis Ababa in jeeps? Were these soldiers armed? Did these soldiers tend to shoot first...
