Write an essay that describes Bosch's background and what in that background would make him have difficulty fitting in to the LAPD "family."

Essay Topic 2

Discuss the author's style of writing. Did you like the style? How would you describe the style? Did the style seem to remain consistent throughout the novel? Is there another style that would have been more effective?

Essay Topic 3

The Black Echo repeatedly uses tension between many different characters to reveal plot and motive for the crimes described. Write an essay that explains why the author would have chosen to use tension in this way. How does the tension add to the crisis points in the novel?
