Objective

Objective: Act 1, Part 1: This is a play, not a narrative, and as such it is important for the students to review the differences between a play and a narrative story. This lesson will focus on the differences between a play and a narrative.

1. As a class, brainstorm a list of differences between a play and a narrative. Post this list in the front of the class where everyone can see it.

2. Divide the class into small groups. Ask each small group to pick the most important, or the top three, differences between a play and a narrative (the reasons must be on the class list). Have each small group create a presentation that shows why their differences are the most important. Share these with the class.
