· This timeline begins in March, 2017, when the DHS Secretary made a public statement that DHS might separate families entering the U.S. without authorization. Weeks later, he announced the DHS would not pursue that policy.
· The events continue through October, 2019, when the HHS identified "an additional 1,556 children under the expanded Ms. L class" (15).
· In the Author’s Note, “Facts on the Ground,” Soboroff begins, “I am an unlikely eyewitness to one of the most shameful chapters in modern American history. The Trump administration’s deliberate and systematic separation of thousands of migrant children from their parents...
