Objective

Mary E. Pearson, the author of Scribbler of Dreams, has written a number of award-winning young adult novels, such as The Fox Inheritance and The Adoration of Jenna Fox. This lesson discusses the author of the novel Scribbler of Dreams, Mary W. Pearson.

Lesson

1) Library Research: Have the students research the author, Mary E. Pearson. Explore the other works she has written, as well as her background. Take a look at interviews and the author's blog to gain information on her writing and where Scribbler of Dreams fits in with her other novels.

2) Presentation: Divide the class into pairs, and have students prepare a presentation using their research on Pearson and her canon. Have each group read an excerpt from different novels written by Pearson during their presentation.
