Poetry

Ask each student to select a character from the novel, and then write a poem from that character's point of view. The poem should contain enough identifying details that the reader of the poem is able to tell which character's point of view it was based on.

Ask each student to select a character from the novel, and write a diary entry from that character's point of view. The diary entry should contain enough identifying details that the reader of the entry is able to tell which character's point of view it was based on.

Quotes

Provide students with a quote from one of the characters in the novel. Then ask students to try to figure out who said it, and to cite the point in the novel in which the statement upon which the quote was based was made.
