Ruth Bader Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn in 1933 to Jewish immigrants. She was an intelligent girl who excelled, not only because of her own abilities, but also because her mother was disciplined, encouraging, and intelligent herself. Ruth’s upbringing set her on a course that would change the lives of everyday Americans.
