Objective

The novel RESTORATION takes place in the Restoration period in England, and King Charles II is a major character. The objective of this lesson is to establish the historical background of the novel.

Lesson

1) Have students research the Restoration period in England and bring in information about the Restoration. Have each student explain one or more important or interesting facts about the Restoration. Put all the information on the board, and ask students how to best organize the information. Have each student organize the information on the board in a structure that makes the most sense to them.

2) Write the word "Restoration" on the board. Ask students to contribute ideas related to the word "restoration" and what it means.
