Couplings

Students will write a brief comparison of Pegeen's married life with Shawn to her potential married life with Christy. Students will read these aloud, contributing to discussion on Pegeen's choices for marriage.

Me Talk Irish One Day

Students will write a page of dialogue between themselves and a friend or family member mimicking the dialect apparent in Synge's play. Students will describe their choices after presenting the dialogue to the class.

The Games

Students will design games to test the strength of the Playboy of the Western World. If possible, students will participate in the games in class, determining a winner to be announced the Playboy(or girl) of the Class.

Dear Diary

Students will write a page from Pegeen's diary exploring her options in marriage, and describing her feelings about Shawn and Christy.
