Lesson

1) Library research: Have the students research the author, Lorna Landvik. Explore the other works she has written as well as her personal and professional backgrounds. Take a look at interviews and the author's website to gain information on her writing and where "Patty Jane's House of Curl" fits in with her other novels.

2) Presentation: Have students get into pairs and prepare a presentation using their research on Landvik and her canon. Have each group read an excerpt from different novels written by Landvik during their presentation. At...
