Objective
This lesson introduces students to Jenny Han’s young adult romance novel P.S. I Still Love You. Students will research the author and the prequel to this book, read Chapter 1, and identify and discuss the narrative style of the work. P.S. I Still Love You is the second installment in the To All the Boys I Have Loved Before trilogy. This coming of age novel follows the first-person narrative of Lara Jean Song Covey, a 16-year-old Korean-American girl as she struggles to navigate her way through high school, relationships, and love.

Group Activity: Assign students to groups of 3-4 each. As a group, read Chapter 1. Following the reading, discuss what has been established regarding the main character of the story and how the story is told. How old is Lara Jean? What are her circumstances as the story begins?
