Create a Diorama

Have students create a diorama of any scene in the story. Encourage the use of various materials, including clay, household items, doll house furniture and paint to make the scene more realistic.

Put on a Play

Break students into groups of three or four. Have each group choose a scene to act out. As an alternative, assign scenes and present them in the order seen in the book.

Who am I?

Choose one student to be a particular character in the book. Have the rest of the class ask yes or no questions that will lead to that character's identity. As soon as students come to the conclusion of which character is being portrayed, they should write it on a piece of paper and hand it in. The first student to guess correctly will be the next to answer questions.
