Thirteen years later Sarah gave birth to a boy named Isaac. After her son was born Sarah became jealous of Hagar and Ishmael and forced them to leave Abraham's household.

After leaving Abraham's household, Hagar and Ishmael were guided by God to a valley called Becca. They were overcome with thirst. Looking for help, Hagar walked seven times between two points. At the end of the seventh time, an angel appeared and spoke to her. A spring welled up on the spot, and the area became known as Mecca.
