Lesson

1) Library Research: Have the students research the author, Gregory Maguire. Explore the other works he has written, as well as his background. Take a look at interviews and the author's blog to gain information on his writing and where "Mirror, Mirror" fits in with his other novels.

2) Presentation: Have students get into pairs and prepare a presentation, using their research on Maguire and his canon. Have each group read an excerpt from different novels written by Maguire during their presentation. At the end of the presentations, have students compare the tone and style of "Mirror, Mirror" with Maguire's other works.
