• This short story collection is written in a mix of tenses and from different perspectives, which will be noted at the start of each summary section.
• In "Liberation Day," which is written in the present tense and from the first person perspective, a "Speaker" named Jeremy lives with two other Speakers.
• The other Speakers are named Craig and Lauren.
• They work together, "pinioned" or held to the wall, while they recite or act out passages and narratives on topics their owner, Mr. Untermeyer, or Mr. U., recites.
• The Speakers have a penalty for speaking out of turn or without permission from Mr. U.
• Jeremy generally tries to do the speaking as well as he can and he takes pride in his work...
