Objective

The focus of the story of Left Behind is on specific events beginning the end times according to Christianity. In order to understand the events of the story, the reader must have a basic understanding of Christian beliefs and teachings. The objective of this lesson is to learn the tenets of Christianity in order to have a foundation to understand the events in the story Left Behind.

Class Discussion: What is Christianity? What does it mean to be a Christian? How does one become a Christian? What is the significance of Christianity in the story of Left Behind?

Activity: Divide the students into groups of three or four. Have each group address the following: Outline the events of the end times as described in Christian beliefs. When they have finished, discuss their outlines as a class. Have the students keep the outlines to use later...
