Ben - This character is an orderly in the prison who is kind to the play's protagonist. When he is pursued by soldiers and appears at the farm house, the king takes him in despite the danger in doing so.

Bishop - This character appears briefly in the first act, blessing the king's army.

Bodice - This character is one of the king's daughters. In the first scene, she objects to her father's cruelty in killing one of his workmen, but eventually leads a successful rebellion against her father, becoming more cruel than he was and even coolly planning her own husband's murder.

Carpenter - This character is first seen at the farm house. Shortly after soldiers kill the owner of the farm house and rape his wife, this character comes on stage and kills the soldiers, eventually marrying the wife.
